Born and raised in Brittany, France, where I completed a Literary French baccalaureate, I have been living and working in London for the last 20 years. I have always had an interest in education. In 2014 I undertook a degree in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Through that training I gained strong teaching and facilitating skills and started to apply and develop my own drama and creative techniques to teaching French. Since 2016, I have been teaching part-time in a primary school and I also regularly visit secondary schools as a french drama specialist to enhance the student’s motivation for the french curriculum and support their language teachers to bring this to life. My work is now online. I currently have students which I help in view of their french GCSE and 13+ exams. I find much joy and satisfaction out of developing people’s curiosity and love for the french language. I believe it is important to learn in a way that is engaging, fun and also intelligently organised so that the students can see themselves progress. Alongside this job, I am also a yoga teacher and an entertainer. When I’m not either teaching or performing, I’m learning new recipes, improving my Spanish, spending time in Nature with loved ones.
For the last 6 years, I have been teaching French privately and in small groups to children and young people. I have helped a high number of students with their GCSEs and 13+ exams.
I make sure to build a rapport of trust between myself and the student, to develop their own confidence in their ability to learn French, no matter their age. I aim to keep them engaged by stimulating their curiosity and critical mind throughout the lesson, using various creative techniques and mediums which suit a range of learning styles. I can bring a focus on a specific skill (speaking, writing, listening and reading) to match the needs of the students. I think optimum learning takes place in a friendly and safe environment where it feels like a pleasure to learn rather than a mere task to achieve. When motivation is maintained, progress will follow.
