Passionate about my subjects, English and Drama, I really enjoy learning about my students and their future aspirations. I have a daughter who has completed an MA, so I fully understand the demands of having a young person in the house who is studying hard! I have many varied interests including going to the cinema and theatre; visiting art galleries and museums; walking in the countryside; travelling and experiencing other cultures and keeping fit by swimming and going to the gym.
Having gained a BA in Drama and English, a PGCE Secondary Drama, and a PG Dip in Creative Practices in Education and an MA in Theatre Arts, I have been teaching KS3 & 4, A-Level, and IB Drama and English at various schools in North Wales, Cheshire and Online for 30 years. Having worked in a number of schools has enabled me to gain extensive knowledge and experience of different examination boards. As well as teaching in the UK I have also taught at various international schools. I have been working as a private tutor throughout my teaching career.
My approach to education is holistic. I consider myself to be learning coach - as a facilitator - guiding the student to ask questions and discover the answers for themselves.
