I am a fully qualified secondary maths specialist teacher with a first-class honours English literature degree. I am quite high energy and bring a sense of humour and fun to all of my lessons.
I have a lot of experience with private tuition (over 8 years!) and have worked with various learners with different needs.
I have tutored both maths and English from KS1 up to GCSE and I have experience tutoring English Literature at A Level also. I am also able to support learners in mathematics who want to fill the gap between GCSE and A Level to make the transition easier.
I am incredibly flexible in my approach and believe that the learner must enjoy the sessions to get something out of it. For younger learners, this often means that I play a lot of games and do short activities. With older, GCSE learners in particular, it is largely student led, meaning that if they are struggling with fractions and I had planned to do quadratics, we will spend the time on fractions as this is what will enable them to get the most from it. (I will often then leave them the extra quadratics work to look at between sessions).
