Hi, I’m 26 and I have recently finished studying a chemistry degree for the last 6 years where I utilised maths often in my degree and achieved a first class honours degree. I studied maths at A-level achieving an A grade. I am an experienced maths tutor having tutored whilst studying for the last five years. I now tutor in the study of my family home in Bromsgrove and see students 1:1 or in small groups as I enjoy teaching. I have enhanced DBS and safeguarding training from tutoring in schools.
I have experience tutoring maths and science GCSE in small groups at a tuition centre as well as one to one privately for years 7-11. I have previous experience volunteering for the charity action tutoring and tutored GCSE maths in a secondary school in Birmingham and year 7/8 maths at a primary school. I am an experienced tutor having tutored for the last five years and I know the GCSE specification very well. Experience with foundation/higher and Edexcel/IGCSE/OCR exam boards.
I usually focus on revising through the curriculum for the year the student is studying, working alongside the topics they are studying at school, to focus on tricky topics. This should help to consolidate their learning and work towards improving the grade they are studying on. For GCSE students I usually recommend going through past papers, working through difficult topics and exam technique, so that they are confident going into the exam. I am also happy to work our way through the syllabus and then past papers to ensure that students reach an exam grade they are happy with.
