Education and learning is so important to me. I have taught in education for many years across all age groups.
Originally trained in Drama in Education and then broadened out to teach adult learners and then into teaching and supporting across ALL subjects in Academic Support at GCSE and A level.
The most important thing about learning is to find that special way to understand your work that links to your learning style.
I have many interests such as history, arts and the countryside.
My wide ranging interests help me to approach teaching and learning in a fresh way.
What does this mean?
How do I write this?
How do I structure my writing and how do I plan my essay?
How can I remember this information?
What does this question mean and how do I write an answer to it?
To help with these I have developed a wide range of teaching skills to help students; understand information, develop essay writing skills, extend writing skills in general, spelling, note taking, revision strategies and to help students understand their subject knowledge.
The many years I have taught in, (and managed), a educational department teaching Subject/Coursework/Study Skills across ALL subjects has given me the experience and expertise needed to support students well.
We all learn differently and we all need to find our strengths.
I can help you to understand the work you have to do- then show you how to develop your abilities so that you are using your own skills in a more advanced way.
I develop an individualised programme, one suited to the your own academic needs. and using my own resources and relevant school/college work.
I use a range of teaching strategies, combined with the awareness of what is needed to help with learning. This is where my strengths lie.
