I am currently a Director of Learning and former acting Head of Drama but first and foremost I am a qualified teacher of English and Drama. I have proven to display effective and most importantly, progressive teaching across key stages 3,4 and 5. As a practitioner, I have consistently encouraged students to challenge their potential and this is an approach that I will continue to apply as a one to one tutor.
I have been working in Secondary schools for the past 6 years and some experience in primary education in Thailand. Over the years, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum demands both in English and Drama. I have a track record of supporting students to achieve grade 4 or above in GCSE Drama, C or above in AS/A2 Theatre Studies. As well as, ensuring students are on track to achieve their target grades in GCSE English. I am an experienced examiner for AQA GCSE Drama and this has provided me with an insight into assessment objectives.
I consider myself to be approachable, friendly and an enthusiastic teacher. I have worked with various students with different attainment and needs, therefore I am able to adapt my teaching style to support and cater each student to progress from one stage to another. I aim to provide the best possible learning experience and high- quality outcomes for every learner in English Language and Literature and in Drama.
