I am an A level Sociology examiner for AQA with extensive teaching experience. I was a social science teacher in a large secondary school in Kent until April 2023 and before that I taught for many years at university level. I am a patient and systematic teacher with a good understanding of both how to develop, support and boost the confidence of weaker students and push stronger students to reach their full potential.
I am a very experienced teacher having taught at all levels from Year 7 through to PhD. At secondary school level I successfully taught GCSE and A level Sociology, IB Social Anthropology and Social Science and Religious Studies at key stages 3 and 4. I have extensive classroom, one-to-one and online teaching experience.
My approach to teaching is student-centred. I believe in adapting tutorials to address the particular needs and weaknesses of the student whether that be understanding theory, exam practice, essay writing or the application of key texts and theories. For A level and GCSE students I believe strongly in exam practice and developing a consistent exam technique that gives students a vital exam toolkit and boosts confidence.
