Hello I'm a Dental student at King's College London. I've always had a passion for the sciences hence my choice to study; Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I sat these exams in Summer 2019 and managed to achieve 4 A*s in my first sitting, so am familiar with the new syllabus (for my GCSEs I studied 13 subjects achieving 10 A*s and also 3 level 9 grades). I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others and have had experience tutoring younger students at school and children at a Removed centre. I am here to help you overcome your personal troubles in these subjects which will hopefully result in exam success.
I am also able to help with UCAT and personal statements. As a Dental student I am aware of the stress on prospective students who face admissions tests. I am happy to advise and discuss practice questions as well as talk through my preferred 'methods of attacking' the questions. In the UCAT (previously called UKCAT when I sat it) I obtained an average of 760, placing within the top 2% of students who sat the exam within my cohort.
Understanding the needs for a healthy work life balance I promote styles of revision which I believe are time effective and promote a greater depth of understanding. As a result at university I am able to juggle dental school work with gym and piano as well as having time to socialise with my friends.
I started offering tuition services in 2019 as I wanted to help students attain their dream exam results; since this time I have completed over 300 lesson with clients privately. Prior to starting private tuition I tutored younger students at the schools I was studying at. During studying for my GCSE qualifications I would teach students in years 9 and below and whilst studying for my Alevels I taught GCSE students. I have also worked for Kumon in the past for several years so have experience working with children.
I will discuss with students the key topics which they wish to focus on and what aspects within these topics they struggle with most. Following this I will obtain material to use in the session which will help assist learning relevant to the specification. I believe consolidating learning with past paper questions is very important as it checks a student's understanding so will finish sessions by going through some exam questions. I also actively encourage students to ask questions as it helps identify the specific details of knowledge they are struggling to grasp most.
