I am a fully qualified primary teacher working currently in North Ayrshire. I live in Kilbirnie, and can travel to your home to save you a journey - I understand how busy evenings with children are! I have children of my own, so I understand I the needs of children and am capable of communicating with them on their terms. I enjoy the challenge of my job and love working with children.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher currently employed with North Lanarkshire council, and have had experience at all levels within a school. My current post is with a p2/3 class in an LCSC unit. I have a Bachelor or Arts degree in Film making and Screenwriting from the University of the West of Scotland, as well as my postgraduate diploma of education. I have worked at schools that cater for additional support needs, and also taught Media Studies overseas. I am passionate about teaching, and in particular about literacy, numeracy and sciences.
I appreciate that children are learning all day in school, so I try to create an ethos of light work, focusing on strategies and practise to help develop their skills. Children will receive constant feedback and will be given very concise next steps and feedback with every lesson, so as to track their progress and to know where they will go next. I will always take the child's views into consideration when planning for the next lesson, as to ensure the child looks forward to their next session. I believe in teaching a variety of strategies in order for the learner to progress in their own unique way. I provide one to one support in a caring and supportive environment.
