Hi I'm Krishan!
I am a part time Chemistry tutor who has taught a range of students over the past few years at both A-level and GCSE.
I am passionate about Chemistry, having achieved top A* grades at both A-level (94%) and GCSE (98%) and later graduating with a First-Class Degree in Natural Sciences, where I specialized in Synthetic Organic Chemistry (averaged 76% across 11 modules in 4 years). I enjoy tutoring as not only do I get to share my passion but I am able to help students develop and build their confidence.
Currently, I work as a Strategic Management Consultant at one of the world’s top-performing firms, where I solve complex problems daily. I bring this problem-solving approach to my tutoring, helping students break down challenging Chemistry concepts and apply them effectively to exam problems. I can also provide any career advice during my lessons.
5+ years
My tutoring approach starts with building trust and rapport with the student. I am eager to understand my students’ current view on Chemistry—what they find interesting, what they find challenging, and why they might struggle with certain topics. I also like to learn about their ambitions, whether they see Chemistry as part of their future studies or career, and how I can help support their goals. If needed, I’m happy to offer advice on career paths or further education in chemistry or related fields.
More importantly, I focus on adapting to how my students learn best. Whether it’s breaking down complex Chemistry problems into manageable steps or tailoring lessons to fit their unique learning style, my goal is to make chemistry easier to understand. I place a strong emphasis on core problem-solving skills, showing how they can be combined with theory and exam techniques to confidently tackle exam questions.
I believe that learning should be enjoyable, which is why my lessons are designed to be fun, engaging, and stress-free. I strive to be calm and friendly, in order to create an open environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring Chemistry at their own pace. My goal is to help students not only excel in their exams but to also build a genuine understanding and appreciation of the subject.
