Lauren

I'm Lauren, a qualified teacher of primary aged children.

I graduated with an English degree from Sussex University. I first completed my Cert Tesol at Golders Green Teacher Training College then went on to get my PTLLS and train to teach Adults in Literacy and Numeracy. I spent two summers teaching 6-8 year olds at an American summer Camp and then I knew I wanted to work with children. I became a Teaching Assistant in Year 5 and 6 before becoming an HLTA, a 1:1 TA and finally qualifying as a teacher.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience across the key stages, I cover taught all years before qualifiying then completed my teacher training in years 1, 2 and 4 and have subsequently taught in Year 3 and 4.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is help them enjoy learning. First and foremost I will get to know your child as a person as well as academically so I can understand their needs and learning style.  I try to make sessions engaging and focus on encouragement and praise. This builds confidence which then helps them to reach their potential.
