I have been teaching English to a high standard for 13 years and have experience of teaching in a diverse range of settings. I am passionate about English and relish the opportunity to share my subject knowledge and experience with my students.
I am currently working as a Lead Practitioner teaching English Language and Literature up to GCSE. In my previous role, I was Head of English for 8 years and understand the importance of adapting the curriculum to support the needs of all learners and to challenge my students to reach their highest potential. Furthermore, I have five year’s experience of teaching A Level English Literature and have also worked in a middle school so I am aware of the demands of preparing Key Stage 2 students for their SATs.
I pride myself of building strong, professional relationships with my students so that I can meet their needs and support them to make the most progress possible. I create engaging resources that make all elements of the curriculum accessible to students. I understand the balance of sticking to strict routines whilst using humour to engage and motivate my students.
