Children are amazing and have certainly shown their resilience during these last two years, they were able to adapted their ‘normal’ way of learning to fully embrace learning online. For my school children I recorded lessons online for them to access so their journey in Maths can continue. I have been teaching for 17 years, but as a teacher, you never get to see yourself teach, so to be able to watch my lessons and reflect on my language and teaching methods has been a very valuable ‘Professional development’ activity. You never stop learning and adapting as a teacher! I will continue to make lessons and post them online. I want the children I tutor and teach to refer to these lessons for revision when needed.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for 17 years and tutoring for 12 years. I am currently teaching in a mainstream secondary school in Glasgow. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring.

Tuition
My model for online tuition is GROUP ONLINE TUITION. I prepare lessons and share these on the 'Zoom' platform. I then talk and annotate over these slides. It is very effective. Children are learning from the comfort of their own homes!!!

I take a maximum of 6 students in each online classroom. My mission is to provide high quality tuition at a fair and reasonable price. The more students that join the group the lower the price of tuition.

1 student – £24
2 students – £16 each
3 students – £15 each
4 students – £14 each
5 students – £13 each
6 students – £12 each

Each session lasts 40 mins. Homework will be provided each week, once submitted it will be corrected and returned to each student. I keep regular contact with parents to update them on their child’s progress.

Past Paper Marking Service
An essential part of the revision process is completing past papers. This service will provide valuable reassurance and guidance.

Reasons for Past Paper Revision
-To assess knowledge.
-To provide students with a clear picture of strengths and areas of improvement.
-To give students an understanding of time management.
-To test the students ability to recall information under exam conditions.
-To help students get used to the structure of the exam papers.
-To recognise the language used for each ’type’ of question.
-To allow students to understand where marks are allocated.

Past Paper Marking Service set up
-A past paper will be sent to the student.
-When completed the paper will be submitted for marking.
-Strengths and areas of improvement will be highlighted.
-Marking scheme will be sent.
-Links to videos will be sent with model answer.
-Follow up questions will be sent on areas that need attention along with worked solutions for students to check.
-Incorrect questions will be done again (after a lag time) and resubmitted for marking.

THIS SERVICE GIVES ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE STUDENT AND GIVES THEM CLEAR TIME LIMITS TO COMPLETE TASKS SPECIFIC TO THEIR NEEDS.
