I work as a consulting CTO and web developer (coding languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, ReactJS, Python). With my background in engineering at Oxford University, I love helping people to understand maths and to inspire a curiosity for learning.
I have over 100 hours experience in tutoring maths and physics, from KS3 - A level and university aptitude tests. I also have experience in mentoring prospective university students in sixth form.
I transform mathematics into engaging conversations. While classroom learning can leave gaps in understanding, my one-on-one approach into the mechanics of problems and solutions helps students to achieve a good grasp of the topics. These subjects also require confidence, self-esteem, focus, attention to detail, and creativity. I work to understand which of these elements a student needs to develop further.
I have an enthusiasm for learning through curiosity and creativity. Education is one of my many passions, and I will always believe that the best way to teach someone is through positive encouragement and building confidence. I emphasise understanding concepts as opposed to memorising them.
Everyone is capable of understanding maths when they are explained in a way that is compatible with the individual's thoughts. Maths is accessible to everyone, even if their strengths lie in subjects which are not conventionally paired with STEM.
I see maths as a creative subject, which is sadly often ruined with routine (over burdened) teachers. As a tutor it is my job to explain a problem to you in a way that you will understand it. I have enjoyed doing this since first helping friends for their maths GCSE, since I sat the exam a year early, and have continued ever since.
