I am a research biologist based in Cardiff with a PhD and MSci in Biology. I have nine years of experience teaching biology at undergraduate level, alongside more than a decade of cutting-edge scientific research. I enjoy drawing on my research background to bring real-world context and depth to my teaching.
I have four years of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Biology at the University of Bristol, delivering one-to-one and group tutorials, supervising lab classes and final-year projects, and marking exams and assignments. I then spent five years as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where I supervised final-year undergraduate projects and mentored Master’s and PhD students.
I believe that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to understand each student’s individual learning style and adapt my lessons to suit them. Where relevant, I draw on my experience using scientific equipment and conducting research to bring topics to life. I am also able to use some of this equipment in lessons, which can help make abstract ideas more tangible and engaging.
