Hello!
My name is Liam. I am an English teacher at Kingswood School in Bath. I graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2005 with a Masters Degree in Latin Studies, and have been teaching since 2010.
I began teaching in 2010 when I completed my CELTA qualification. Initially, I taught English as a second language to university students and young adults (mainly in London and Australia). In 2012 I was accepted onto the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, and began teaching English to students in a challenging secondary school in Chatham, Medway. In 2013 I moved back to London and began working in the Independent Sector, teaching Latin and Classical Civilization to GCSE and A-level. During this time I also tutored students for AS and A2 Latin. From September 2016 to August 2018, I worked at a preparatory school, preparing students for the demands of Common Entrance and Scholarship Exams. After a year travelling the world, I have returned to the UK to teach English at Kingswood School in Bath.
Tutoring is all about relationships. If there is a positive relationship between tutee and tutor, based on mutual respect, good quality learning will take place, and results will come naturally. I believe it also very important to be empathetic and patient.
