Cambridge graduate • Professional, experienced tutor • 8 years, over 50 students and hundreds of hours experience • Online discount available

I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2016 with a degree in Physics - this is where I started tutoring - and have since completed a Masters in Finance at Newcastle University. I'm passionate about both Physics and Maths and really enjoy helping others understand difficult concepts and improve their ability. Since then I have tutored a number of students in physics, maths and further maths at both GCSE and A level, and have now taught over 100 hours of lessons. I have even tutored in New Zealand, where I lived during 2018.

In 2017-2018 I worked for Snaprevise, a company who produce high quality revision videos in a number of subjects. My job involved breaking down the A level and GCSE physics specifications into easily digestible points, and explaining these in a simple, effective and entertaining way (you should check out the site). Through this I have become very familiar with the courses. I also created original mock exam questions to cover the entire GCSE course.

I can teach for many purposes and for many abilities, from year 7 up to year 13. Whether you want help with revision, a one off lesson on some particular issues or frequent lessons to keep up with your course, I'd be happy to help.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for 8 years now, since I was at Cambridge University. Since then I have taught many students in physics, maths and further maths, mainly aged 15 to 18, but one mature student too.
Since I started tutoring I have continued wherever I went, at Newcastle University, at home in North Yorkshire, in London and even in Auckland, New Zealand.
As well as experience with students I also have experience working for a revision company, SnapRevise. My job involved breaking down the A level and GCSE physics specifications into easily digestible points, and explaining these in a simple, effective and entertaining way (you should check out the site). Through this I have become very familiar with the courses. I also created original mock exam questions to cover the entire GCSE course.

Tutoring Approach

Every student is different and so I change my teaching approach accordingly, both in terms of style and teaching material.
Some may find it more helpful to have tuition covering the weeks school lessons, some may benefit more from intensive exam practice and some may prefer to systematically review the whole course. Equally some may learn better by doing, some by being shown etc. These are things I aim to find out in the first lesson, along with identifying the key weaknesses, from where we can build together.
