Libby

My son is in year 11, he has a specific learning style which means he learns best in person. Throughout Year 10, he was struggling in Science and did not do very well in his mock exams.

Libby has been tutoring my son once a week in person, Libby has taken time to get to know my son, understand his learning style and has made learning for my son fun, engaging and creative via paper exercises, visuals, online platforms and books. My teenage son, always looks forward to his tuition with Libby. This talks volumes on Libby's skills to engage teenagers and no doubt younger kids. Libby is very professional, is on time, communicates clearly and keeps me updated on my sons progress, shares tips on what to ask on parents evenings and shares resources.

Libby goes through my son's homework with him to ensure he understands it, goes through previous exam papers to test his knowledge and teaches according to the national curriculum.

In Oct/Nov 2023, my son did his school science aptitude test and got the second highest score in Year 11 with his chemistry grade. This is an amazing achievement as previously he really struggled in Chemistry. In addition, my son has significantly improved in Biology and Physics. My son in January 2024 has been moved up to the top set for Science thanks to Libby.

Libby is continuing to support my son in science, has made science fun to learn, is supporting my son to have increased confidence in exams and giving him tips to revise and get GCSE ready.

I would recommend Libby to all parents considering a tutor for thier child.

Libby is helping my daughter prepare for her Chemistry A-level and she is simply fantastic. She is caring, committed, well organised and provides excellent resources for the lessons and sets useful homeworks for an extra push. She creates a relaxed atmosphere and is very encouraging.
