First-class degree in Maths from Imperial College, A* in Maths, Further Maths A-Level and GCSE.
Most of the difficulties faced by struggling students in Maths arise from a lack of targeted and supervised development in crucial fundamentals, many of which are overlooked and lead to problems in the future. As an oversimplified example of this, what is 6 ÷ 2(1+2)? The answer is not 1 but is in fact 9! What my students appreciate about my style of teaching is that I am receptive of their mistakes, dig into the true root of the problem that they are facing, propose more efficient ways of tackling the problem at hand, and then reinforce their learning with tailored questions of similar structure. As someone with over 5 years’ worth of experience tutoring Maths, I have successfully tutored under-achieving students in secondary schools/college with exceptional improvements in both their grades and methodological approaches to problem solving.
At the same time, my sheer enthusiasm for Maths translates into an eagerness to broaden the horizons of my students that want to outdo themselves. In Year 9, I sat my GCSE Maths exam and gained an A*, followed by an A* in A-level Maths in Year 11. By continually pushing myself, I was able to also win multiple Maths Challenge Gold awards and participate in the British Maths Olympiad. As such, I understand the need for pushing students beyond what they thought was possible by empowering them with the skills and motivation so that they can work in their optimal form.
I cover all GCSE/iGCSE and A-level exam boards and am also well-versed in the syllabi of the new 9-1 GCSEs and new format for A-levels. During my school years, doing every single Maths problem available to me meant that I have much experience in sifting through the 1000+ questions (not an exaggeration) and finding the right ones that will help to improve the exam technique of my students. If you think I would be a good fit for you, do not hesitate to send me a message and I will aim to get back to you within the hour. Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a lovely day! :)
