Hi, my name is Lina. I offer private 1:1 online tuition in Primary English, Maths and science. I am a qualified teacher with experience across KS1 and KS2. I have taught in a variety of diverse and vibrant schools, and have taught pupils of different backgrounds and learning needs.

Tutoring Experience

I hold a BSc in Human and Medical Science with First Class Honours, and a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS. I have a number of years of experience across all Key Stages in a variety of schools with pupils of a wide age range and different backgrounds. Aside from being a class teacher, I have worked at Kumon Tuition Centre, supporting children across all ages in their core subjects.

Tutoring Approach

As a qualified teacher, I can understand the challenges faced in a classroom of up to 30 pupils, especially during the pandemic where 'narrowing the gap' has been made much more difficult. With 1:1 online tuition, I aim to support students with understanding key concepts, deepening their understanding, making progress across their desired subject/s and to achieve and exceed their potential. Students will be supported with topics whether it is an area of development, reinforcement of existing knowledge, or to be challenged further.

During the first meeting, an initial assessment will be carried out to identify the student's areas of strengths and improvements which will be shared with parents. From this, an overview of the tuition objectives/goals is planned out. Students will be able to have an informal chat where they can share their thoughts and feelings about the subject areas they would like support with. I like to take their thoughts into consideration to allow for a student-based approach to learning where they share in the decisions, can enjoy their learning and believe in their capacity to lead.
