I have been lecturing for over ten years - specialising in dissertation writing. I graduated from UCL with an M.A. (Distinction) in Anthropology and also have a BA (HONS) in Fine Art and Visual Culture, presently I am working on my PhD.

I specialise in Visual Culture, focussing on music, gaming, and film cultures. I have been invited to present papers both nationally and internationally, including The Royal Anthropological Institute, Oxford and Harvard University. Additionally, I have been interviewed by a range of public media outlets including BBC Radio 4, Radio 5, The NME and The Telegraph.

I fervently believe it is the responsibility of the tutor to posses the requisite skills to effectively teach students from a broad range of academic backgrounds. As such I have worked on several projects within the university in the development of teaching methods to students who struggle with academic writing, in addition to my experience relating my research to both academic and non academic audiences.

Tutoring Experience

I specialise in social sciences, media analysis, and the creative arts. I am well versed in tutoring a variety of different subjects and utilising a range of media.

I am responsible for assisting students from all three undergraduate levels in the construction and assessment of their end of year text. Alongside individual and group tutorials designed to give more focussed attention to the work of individual students, I also conduct regular seminars that aim to elucidate different issues relating to their understanding and application of broader theory and analysis. Furthermore, I am also host structured workshops, focussing on the fundamentals of academic writing and research skills. I have also been invited to lecture on a range of topics including subcultures, gender performance, film analysis and clothing cultures.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is very much dependent on the specific area the student is struggling with. Often I focus on establishing and unpicking the key texts and theorists of the subject being approached before moving on to establishing better research and writing techniques.

Work then begins on the fundamental planning and structuring of the written work. As many of the students I currently tutor do not come from a strong academic background I put special precedence on demystifying some of the more complex but essential readings, making them as relatable as possible.
