I completed my degree at the University of St Andrews graduating in 2000 then moved to Edinburgh with my husband so that I could complete my PGCE at the University of Edinburgh. I worked for a year at Boroughmuir High School in Edinburgh then moved to Perth and I am now back in Edinburgh.
Tutoring Experience
Over the last 20 years I have taught in a range of different schools and I am currently working in a large state school in Midlothian, teaching a full timetable at all levels. I have tutored numerous children over the last 20 years at a range of levels up to Higher.
Tutoring Approach
I hope to give children that I tutor an understanding of the concepts behind what they are learning and to help them link all the aspects of the course together in their minds. I always look at the individuals strengths and weaknesses and plan sessions according to these. We will also work on strategies for answering exam questions and strategies to maximise their overall mark.
