Hi, I lead a Social Sciences department teaching Psychology, Sociology and Politics in a secondary school in Bucks. I have taught for 13 years in both private and state schools.
I achieved 3A*s and 7As at GCSE, and 4As at A level (would be the equivalent of 3A*s and 1A in line with new results banding). I studied for my undergraduate degree at Warwick University and at Keele University for my Social Sciences PGCE.
I am a strong academic and specialise in exam technique and essay writing.
13 years in secondary schools (private and state).
Middle management - Both pastoral and academic.
I will tutor to the best style that suits you/ your child's learning.
Every student is different, we do not all learn the same way!
I believe in good organisation (folders, resources and online files), practice and perseverence. Above all, I believe in enjoying a subject and enthusing students.
Every private tutee I have tutored has achieved at least 1 A grade in an A level exam. A number of tutees have achieved A grades in both exams.
Having worked in outstanding/private schools I am adept at pushing students to high grades; most of my students go on to attend Oxbridge or Russell Group universities.
I teach full time in school but can offer online tuition on weekdays after 3.30pm via Microsoft Teams. I am experienced in offering online lessons and I provide all powerpoint/learning resources which guide and structure each lesson.
