Hola! I am a native Spanish teacher and I am passionate about languages. I have lived in the UK for over 30 years and I have always taught Spanish in a variety of settings and to a variety of students. I am very enthusiastic about all things Spanish and Hispanic: culture, the arts, history and current affairs. I am most flexible in my teaching approach as I can teach primary school pupils, GCSE and A level students, including adults who enjoy a new language or students who would like to further develop their knowledge.
I have over 30 years teaching experience in a variety of settings: colleges for adult education, young students private tuition, business Spanish for corporate organisations etc. For the last 25 years I have taught in several schools, from primary Spanish, GCSE, to A Level standard. I am familiar with most exams boards such as AQA, Edexel, IB and their syllabus, including their grading system. I have retired from teaching formally and now I have my little group of young learners, teaching at home!
My teaching approach depends very much on my students and their level. If their aim is to pass a formal national examination, the content of my lessons will mirror the exam board requirements, including literature topics, translation and writing comprehension. I use a different approach if my students are beginners or wish to have a practical and yet informal Spanish knowledge. Whichever is the approach, my lessons are tailored to suit student previous knowledge and their learning style.
