I am a Spanish native from south Spain and I have been teaching Spanish in the UK for 9 years. I am really passionate about it and I like to thrive in my profession being super organised, determined, committed and learning how each of my students learn best, this way I can deliver lessons that suit their particular needs. I am also very patient, sociable and caring.
I have been living in the UK for 16 years now so I am fluent in English as well as my first language, Spanish. I studied my translation degree in the UK and then went on to study my PGCE after I did a teaching assistant practise while I was at uni and I discovered I loved teaching. From then on I have worked in 3 schools (1 temporary position, for my NQT, another school in Hertfordshire for 3 years and half, and then I moved address and went to work at my current school for 4 years and a half).
My approach is engaging as I like to include all the different teaching styles in my lessons (visual, kinesthetic, etc). I like to plan carefully my lessons and provide a very interactive learning experience (I don’t like to be explaining things all the time, but once I explain it it’s important to practice from different angles and the student to show me how it’s done), it’s the best way for students to remember and apply grammar and structures. I also like to keep my lessons up to date and use a wide range of resources. In terms of GCSE and A Level, I am aware of the new specifications and I teach exam skills in a practical way so that my students can be successful at the exams.
