Hi! I'm Lucy and I've been tutoring for seven years. I graduated from The University of Warwick with a 1st in a Masters of Biology and am a biochemistry scientist. I have an A grade in Biology for both GCSE and A level, with additional A levels in Chemistry and Psychology.
I have experience in helping student who find themselves overwhelmed by the content, those who struggled maintaining focus in class and those who felt that classes moved too quickly.
Over the years of tutoring, I have helped numerous tutees with improving their knowledge and confidence in science in order to both improve their grades and receive offers from their chosen university. Additionally, I have previously volunteered in helping struggling Year 8 students improve their literacy skills. This was a role requiring patience and understanding of different abilities and learning speeds. I have experience teaching Edexcel, AQA, OCR and IB.
I am a friendly and patient person so would be ideal both for those able to quickly grasp the concepts and those who struggle or take slightly longer. My approach is to engage the student in the subject and ensure thorough understanding of the fundamentals in order to grasp the details. I can be very flexible in my tutoring methods as everyone has different ways of learning and I feel it is important to adapt the delivery to the student.
