I am a warm and enthusiastic English teacher with 20 years experience. I never stop getting excited about learning and helping others learn too. My goal is always to release the maximum potential of the students I work with and to help to boost confidence. I am also a mum and a gardener.
I have been working in education with young people and adults since 1998, primarily in secondary schools, the FE sector and in tuition. For the last 15 years, I have focused in particular on helping young people acquire the skills necessary to succeed at GCSE and A Level. I also work with adults who want to improve their general or professional writing skills or who are returning to learning. I taught successfully online for several years pre-pandemic and now offer sessions online or in-person.
My approach to teaching is student-centred and skills-based. Since the pandemic, this seems more important than ever. I aim to create a warm, enjoyable and safe learning environment in which students can learn at their own pace, ask all the questions they need to and, above all, succeed.
