I have a first class honours degree in English Literature and am a qualified English teacher with twenty years of teaching experience in both state and independent secondary schools. My pupils, at all Key Stages, have achieved excellent results and I believe this is as a results of focussing on a combination of subject knowledge, core skills and self-confidence.
I have taught in classrooms for twenty years across both state and independent schools and have experience teaching pupils with a wide range of abilities. I have extensive experience working with pupils with AEN, especially Dyslexia and ASD; I even wrote a research paper on these educational needs as part of my degree.
I work with pupils not only to improve their knowledge and core skills but importantly their confidence, which makes all the difference. My pupils, at all Key Stages, have achieved excellent results, with many gaining two or even three grades above their predictions.
I believe that everyone learns differently and I therefore tailor my teaching to suit each learner in order to improve their outcomes. I also make the lessons fun and interactive with plenty of opportunity for questions and feedback.
As already mentioned, I work on the core skills, subject knowledge and the confidence needed to succeed.
