Hi, I'm Maalik, a second year medical student at Hull York Medical School. I have been tutoring for several years now and have a lot of happy tutees. While being a medical student keeps me engaged for a large portion of my time, tutoring has always been something that I have enjoyed making time out for. Not only does explaining topics help me become a better teacher, but it helps me become a better future doctor (after all, doctor is Latin for teacher). There is nothing I enjoy more than helping students reach their goals; having been through A levels fairly recently myself, I know how tough it can be and now in the COVID 19 era, things can be trickier than normal. However, after 2 years of med school, I have learnt a lot about learning - and one thing I realized is that a lot of A level students have a significant room for improvement in the way they learn, there are so many inefficiencies etc. that can be eliminated with the correct insight
I tutor on multiple platforms, I have become very comfortable and efficient in finding the best approach to teach every single student I have. I've been doing this for a while now and can usually get my students what they need in each lesson without wasting valuable time.
I like to get my students as involved as possible in any lessons I teach. It is my firm belief (proven by hundreds of hours tutored) that the more the student interacts in lessons, the better they understand concepts. I like to keep things interesting by engaging students in various ways adapted to their own natural learning process. this makes my lessons not only highly efficient and productive, but also enjoyable at the same time.
