My interests are broad and wide-ranging, and I have taught a range of subjects across the primary and secondary levels since completing the Teach First Leadership Development Programme in 2017. My uncommonly high verbal and mathematical skills put me in a prime position to prepare young people for the demands of the core subjects including maths and English .
Almost a decade teaching in primary schools has confirmed my belief that when it comes to passing
exams, technique is everything. It was a general awareness of the importance of strategy that
enabled me to achieve 13A* grades at GCSE whilst I was a pupil at a top Kent grammar school. I use my love of the language and number to both motivate and inspire. I put structure at the heart of what I do. What this means in practice is that I deliver lessons that are both fun and focused. I set goals that are realistic, challenging and, above all, empowering.
By getting to know you and your child, I learn what motivates them and use this to encourage their
interest in the subject in question. We build on the skills learned in previous lessons, and I introduce new skills at appropriate junctures. Where a test in in imminent, there is more of a focus on exam-specific skills, such as time-management, which can be carefully cultivated to ensure that your child achieves their full potential.
