Home Tuition for Maths and French in Notting Hill

Considerable experience in the education sector both as a Maths teacher and self-employed home tutor. A proven record of teaching, coaching and supporting students to achieve goals. An effective communicator with excellent subjects teaching abilities and a sound knowledge of the national Curriculum.

As a qualified maths teacher, I use patience, shrewd judgment and good humor to bring the best out of pupils. I have amassed seven years tutoring experience to 5-18 year old and adults in Maths and French.

Tutoring Experience

I have twenty one years teaching experience, the first two of which have been as a Full Time Maths teacher in Sweden. I have
tutored over 700 students over this time period varying in age, level and duration.
I am a regular assessor of 10-15 year ability in Maths and French and have 100% success rate with 11+ students guiding them towards Mill Hill, Merchant Taylor's School, Maida Vale School, University College School, St Pauls, Godolphin & Latymer, The Harrodian, Francis Holland, Portland Place and More House.

Examples of recent assignments:

  • Tutor to two boys in Maths and French living in South East London for 2 years.
  • Tutor/mentor to a 15 year old boy living in New Malden for 1 year.
  • Daily homework support and creative thinking games with a 6,7 and 9 year old.
  • Intensive tuition with a boy sitting the 11+ St Pauls exam in January (successful entry)
  • Regular weekly classes to students between 6-21 years requiring additional support to their studies
  • Assisting two adult learners with the improvement of their creative writing, grammatical ability and sentence structure in French.
  • Acting as full time Maths teacher (homeschooling) to prepare a student for 13+ Common Entrance exams having recently moved to UK
  • Regular meetings with a foreign student wishing to improve their conversational skills and articulation in French

Tutoring Approach

As a tutor I don't only support the children's learning but also guide them towards a deeper understanding of the subject and engagement with its challenges. I am passionate about Maths and French, and I love to share this enthusiasm with the pupils.
I do respond to the individual and unique needs of the student, probing their understanding and responding to their difficulties to arrive at an understanding of the subject that is complete, lasting and, importantly, engenders pride in the student's work.
