My name is Maja, and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you. As a third-year Law and French student at university, I have a strong background in English language skills, which I had to teach myself as a first-generation immigrant. I know firsthand the difficulties that can arise when learning a new language but I also know that with dedication and perseverance, anything is possible.
In fact, I managed to achieve one of the highest grades in my school for English at both GCSE and A-level, thanks to my passion for exploring the deeper meanings of words and their contexts. This love of analysis is also what inspired me to pursue a degree in Law, as it plays a significant role in this field.
If you are struggling with English, please don't worry! I am here to help and guide you through this exciting journey. With my support, I am confident that you too can develop a passion for this fascinating subject. So, let's work together to overcome any challenges and reach your goals!
I have tutored for the last 4 years, particularly specialising in GCSE and A-level English and French however I can also help with History as well as the LNAT.
As an experienced tutor, I understand that every child learns differently and at their own pace. That's why I take a personalised approach to each lesson, adapting to the individual needs and capabilities of every student that I work with. Our first sessions are always assessment based, allowing me to understand how your child learns and where we need to start.
Whether your child needs help with English, French, History or the LNAT, I have the expertise to support them. In English, we cover the key themes of each piece of literature and learn the perfect essay structure for their exams. In French, we work on expanding vocabulary and practicing how to answer exam questions. In History, we discuss what makes a good historical analysis essay and cover content based on their weakest area. For the LNAT, I use a practical approach to ensure that students understand how to analyse essay questions correctly and identify what each question is asking of them.
My approach to learning is centred around supporting the student in achieving their goals, whatever they may be. If your child wants to pass an exam to pursue something they really love to do, I will ensure they have the tools to do so. If they already love the subject and want to achieve top grades, I will do everything in my power to help them get there. While I can't promise to make your child fall in love with a subject, I can promise that they will learn how to engage with it to a point that helps them achieve their given goal.
