I currently teaching at a primary school. I listen to what my pupils want and through discussion and diagnostic testing identify their academic needs. I then vary my teaching styles and create a plan of work designed to meet the specific needs and learning style of the individual pupil. I tutor for entrance exams, general educational needs such as gaps in knowledge due to the global pandemic and pupils who are new to English. Tuition is offered in small groups or individual.
I have over thirty-five years of teaching experience spanning key stages 1, 2, and 3 but with greater emphasis in key stage 2. I have experience of teaching overseas but am currently teaching in England, hence, I am able to bridge the gaps in learning especially for those pupils who have just migrated to England. I am also qualified to teach dyslexic pupils where I plan and teach a specially tailored individualized programme of study targeting the specific needs of the child.
My approach to tutoring is simple. I first identify the pupil's needs by completing a diagnostic test to determine the needs of the pupil. This serves to identify any gaps in the pupil's learning. My approach will include: explaining, demonstrating, pupil demonstrating and reviewing.
