I am an experienced teacher and enjoy tutoring to help tutees succeed in achieving their potential. As a parent of two who have gone through the exams system and beyond, I am familiar with the challenges faced by A Level students and their parents and families. I aim to build tutees confidence in their subject knowledge and prepare them for exams. I have experience supporting students through UCAS and apprenticeship applications and so appreciate the array of factors influencing Tutee’s whilst they complete their studies.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 15 years in secondary schools in Derby teaching GCSE Biology, A Level Geology and A Level Biology. I can tutor A Level Biology for AQA, OCR & Edexcel exam boards. I cover all aspects of the course including content, practical elements and, exam question practice.

Tutoring Approach

I like to work with tutees to identify areas where there are gaps in knowledge and then work through those areas build confidence. I use a variety of resources and some quizzes to support this and enable tutees to evaluate their knowledge and understanding. I work through exam questions developing interpretation and application skills so that tutees can eventually become confident in dealing with questions independently.
