I am retired a teacher of English Language, English Literature and Media Studies, having specialised in teaching A-Level from 2005. Most of my teaching career was spent in secondary schools, with a two and a half year period in FE. In 2005 I wrote and published "The Language Of Websites" for the Routledge Intertext series, and in 2012 I worked as a consultant for Edexcel, helping to redevelop their A-Level English Language qualification for the latest government A-Level reforms. I have a current Enhanced DBS Certificate, registered on the yearly update service.
Twenty-six years experience of teaching English Language and English Literature A-Level. Twenty years experience of teaching Media Studies A-Level. Thirty years experience as an external examiner and moderator of English Language and English Literature, for several different awarding bodies.
An adaptable, well informed and friendly person with a dry sense of humour, I relate well in one-to-situations and I have very highly developed written communication and ICT abilities. My approach to teaching is best described as very flexible and adaptable to the needs of individual learners.
** Currently I will only be accepting requests for online tuition from home.
