I have worked in the social care sector for over 30 years, within both childrens and adult servcies. My experience includes working with all age groups who have learning difficulties, mental health needs, Autism, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, challenging behaviour, sensory needs, deafblind, physical support needs and educational support. I have both practical experience and extensive operational and senior management experience which enables me to impart a breadth of knowledge and skills to those whom I work with and teach. My qualifications are extensive and not soley related to care as I have masters level management qualifications that have supported my career development and also allow me to advise and teach areas of gneric management including sales, marketing and finance. I also specilise in the development of risk management and care planning approaches and have worked as a private consultant and teacher to a variety of local authorities and private companies and charities.

Tutoring Experience

My teaching experience is varied, including lecturing on Health and Social Care, private consultancy and training, NVQ assessor work and presenting, teaching and mentoring as part of professional roles.

I am extremely enthusiastic about enabling excellence within social care. My approach is to not only support the technical requirements of students across a range of levels but to enable them to see beyond their studies and consider the practical application of their skills. I have a supportive and creative approach that maximises each persons learning potential.
