I specialise in exam technique for Edexcel GCSE History, in particular on the following units: Weimar Germany/Medicine/Russia/Elizabethan England/Warfare/Crime and Punishment/Cold War. At A Level I have experience with both Edexcel and OCR and a wide variety of topics. I have examined for both GCSE and A Level over a number of years.

With regards to Politics, I specialise in US Politics, UK Politics and have experience with each ideology. I have examined for Edexcel for a number of years.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 12 years and in every single one of those years my classes have had a positive outcome in terms of grades achieved vs their predicted ones.

My cohorts routinely achieve ALPS 2/3 which puts them in the top 25% nationwide for progress made. I excel at helping students who have particular grades they are aiming for and helping them to achieve it, no matter the grade.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is very flexible and I like to tailor it to the student/class I am working with. I enjoy knowing my students as people and work with them to ensure that we are progressing in areas they need reinforcement.

I view teaching as a two-way street, and the relationship between teacher/student is vital to ensure that we can have honest conversations about areas for growth, which are then used to plan future lessons.
