My wife, teenage daughter and I relocated from Staffordshire to Mid-Wales in September 2012 and are currently renovating our 200 year old cottage and garden, in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Education and Training is my passion and I give one hundred percent in everything I do.

Tutoring Experience

My vocational area of expertise is Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Management. I offer a range of courses and levels which I'm sure will suit your needs. My first teaching post was in 1996 as a Lecturer in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Stoke on Trent College. I went on to hold similar posts, at various management levels, at Leek and Stafford College. The teaching at all three colleges ranged from Craft Level to National Certificate Level and HE programmes.

In 2005 I took up a post at Cannock Chase Technical College, which included lecturing and fully developing and running the Construction Department - this included Painting & Decorating, Brickwork and Electrical Engineering.

All of my teaching roles have included tutoring, mentoring and support, to ensure my learners achieve their potential. I am currently employed by an Awarding Organisation, as a Senior Quality Consultant, recognised by OFQUAL and the Welsh Government.

Tutoring Approach

In the first instance I will need to ascertain the support a student requires - this is usually carried-out in your own home and is free of charge. This initial assessment will enable a focused and personal learning plan to be put into place to address the problems that your son or daughter may be experiencing. I also encourage tutoring to take place in the learners home - I've found that this is the best approach for all concerned. Verbal feedback is given at the end of each session - this is closely followed by written feedback and customised notes. I'm currently offering distance learning through individually prepared Power Point Presentations.
