I am an educator with certification in both Canada and the United Kingdom currently working as a Physics teacher in Gloucester, UK. I have a background in teaching Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

I am familiar with the requirements of different exam boards having taught AQA, Edexcel and OCR. My experience is:
- Maths and Science to KS3
- Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology to GCSE
- Physics to A Level

I hold a Master's Degree in Science, a Graduate Certificate in Science; Bachelor's Degrees in both Education and Arts.
I began as a teacher in British Columbia, Canada in 2006. In 2008 I moved abroad and taught Math and Science in American International Schools in Ethiopia and Myanmar. In 2015 I moved to the UK where I have been living since and have taught GCSE and A Level Physics and GCSE Chemistry.

When I'm not teaching I enjoy playing music as well as ice hockey, running and cycling.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced middle and secondary school Math and Sciences teacher across a range of different systems: GCSE, A Level, International Baccalaureate (IB), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Science Curriculum of BC (Canada).

I have taught for almost 20 years with experience mainly in Maths and Science. I have held responsibilities as Head of Physics and Head of Science and have worked with pupils across all Key Stages.

Tutoring Approach

Teaching starts with an assessment of a pupil's knowledge and ability. Once a baseline is established we can discuss what knowledge skills and abilities the pupil needs to be able to take the next step. It is important the pupil is aware of what they will need to be able to do so we signpost a route including Learning and Skill Objectives. Learning takes the form of lesson, practice and revision where the pupils work with exam-standard questions appropriate to their ability.
