I am an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher with a specialism in psychology and education. I am passionate about helping students deepen their understanding of these subjects while also developing essential academic skills such as critical thinking, research methods, and effective writing. With a supportive and engaging approach, I aim to build confidence and equip students with the tools they need for academic success.
I have 10 years of teaching experience across a range of educational settings. I began my teaching career in statistics before moving into secondary education, where I taught English and completed my PGCE. I then transitioned to higher education, teaching at Sheffield Hallam University before taking on my current role as a University Teacher in Psychology at the University of Sheffield. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong ability to support students in both subject-specific learning and broader academic skill development.
I take a personalised approach to tutoring, tailoring each session to suit each student’s preferred learning style. From my prior tutoring experience, I understand the importance of adapting to individual needs to build confidence and enhance understanding. My style is collaborative and supportive, creating a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing the skills they need to succeed.
