Matthew

I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate teacher and tutor with 16 years experience in the profession. I began my teaching journey at a secondary school in the suburbs of Birmingham back in 2009 before relocating back home to South Wales in 2016 and continuing my career in education here. When not teaching I enjoy spending as much time as possible in nature, exploring the UK with my wife, son and our 14 year old West highland terrier, Alfie. I also enjoy wild camping, hiking and permaculture.

Tutoring Experience

With over 16 years of teaching experience I have developed a passion and enthusiasm to support and promote learning of all ages. Whether your child needs a little extra support with homework, on going assignments or preparation for upcoming exams. In addition, I also offer my tuition services to those whom are home schooled or following an alternative curriculum at their own pace.

I began my teaching career in 2009, developing a wealth of skills and experience along the way. I have taught in mainstream secondary as department leader, primary, ASD/SEBD settings and as a one to one tutor for both face to face and online. I began my tutoring journey in 2021 and have successfully built a large client base which has enabled me to do this as my full time job, which I thoroughly enjoy and gain so much satisfaction.

My tuition services include Maths, English and Product Design (and other DT disciplines) up to KS4. I am also able to provide tuition across other subject areas (please enquire)

Tutoring Approach

Face to face and online lessons will be tailored to each individual based on their needs and learning style. During our first session I will gauge where support is needed through various assessment tools and questioning. I will then implement this in to my lesson plans for future sessions to maximise student engagement and learning development/outcomes . Sessions are flexible in terms of duration and availability through the week to fit around your schedule. All resources provided will be available electronically free of charge. Additional resources to support our sessions will also be available.
