Matthew is a truly excellent tutor - conscientious, empathetic and very knowledgeable. He helped our daughter achieve what she wanted to in her Math GCSE's and provided wise counsel and support throughout her studies. I couldn't recommend him more highly. He is a lovely man and a great teacher.

Matthew has been very kind, caring and patient.

We recommend his teaching skills since he teaches to ensure that his students understand the theory of the maths skills needed and to gain confidence. Overall students will benefit to have a better understand which is more helpful for future topics as well.

He teaches stage by stage to gain high quality marks and gain better understanding to demonsrate working outs on paper.

Matthew has been a fantastic tutor to our 6y old son for chess. Our son had no chess experience before working Matthew and found his love for the game. We focused on interest initially to ensure he enjoys the game and the lessons. He started working with Matthew when he was 5y old and. Highly recommend Matthew!

Matthew is a very kind and helpful tutor, who helped my son though his Maths A Level when he was extremely behind, even on such short notice before exams. In the end my son managed to get his firm choice of university to study Biomedical Science! Matthew structures his lessons very well, and always makes sure to set homework for my son to consolidate his learning. He teaches concepts step by step and makes sure my son didn’t continue until he understood the topic. He is an excellent tutor and I strongly recommend him

Matthew had one lesson with my daughter who is currently taking her French A level. Matthew has good technical grammar but our preference was for a fluent French speaker as my daughter has french as her mother tongue.

I only had one italian lesson with Matthew and he was absolutely straight from the outset in confirming that he is not fluent in the language. As I wanted to improve my grammar, I went ahead anyway and actually quite enjoyed the lesson. Matthew came quite prepared and asked a lot of questions to ascertain my level. He is easy to chat with but my reason for only 4 stars is that I had hoped for just a little fluency and italian conversation (despite being forewarned) alongside the verb testing. I am sad as I believe Matthew is an excellent teacher and would have helped me greatly had I been a student of french or spanish. Sadly, he is not the correct choice for me with italian.

Matthew has always been punctual, reliable, and is very knowledgeable about the subject. He is also friendly and able to answer all of my questions that arose whilst learning Spanish.

Mathew is very dedicated and works wonderfully with children. He has been teaching Srot for more than 6 months now and I am very pleased with how Srot is making progress.

My son thoroughly enjoys his Spanish tuition sessions with Matthew and even more so that the session ends with a chess session. Matthew takes his time and explains things very well to my 6 year old. Thank you!

Mathew is an excellent tutor who helped my son with his Maths and French studies. He quickly assessed my sons needs for upcoming exams and identified and addressed the specific areas where he was struggling and created learning plan which has helped him considerably in both subjects. He is also very organised, setting questions to be completed before the next visit and tackling all the key learning points. Throughout, he gave constructive feedback on how the tutoring was progressing and what my son needed to do. My son was very grateful for the help Mathew provided and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an experienced tutor to help their son or daughter.

Quite an excellent tutor , extremely knowledgeable and will get you to a higher than average understanding of any topic , before the year I was predicated at a grade 4 for Spanish and after a couple months I got a grade 6 , he’ll push you to do better than most of your peers so you really stand out

Matthew is punctual and shows a willingness to help a child achieve. Matthew offers chess classes which is a plus and brings a helpful break from the academic subjects during the session. My son really enjoys the chess element.
