I am a former graduate of, and now PhD candidate at, the Univesrity of Cambridge with a deep love of History and a passion for helping students achieve their potential in the subject. I am particularly interested in all things medieval, especially the religious and cultural history of the fifteenth century, but believe in the value of all types of History to students in today's world.
I have taught History at a top independent school near Brighton. I have experience teaching young people aged 13-18, including preparing students for their GCSE and A Level qualifications. Topics I have taught include: Germany 1918-1989; the Cold War; the Blitz; the Origins of the First World War. I also have experience supporting A Level students with their coursework module, with all my students achieving top marks. I particularly enjoy working with students on essay technique and argument.
My teaching approach is student led, working with individual learners to identify areas they need support with and come up with strategies tailored to them. I aim to help students build confidence - an essential foundation to success- and deepen their understanding of the past. I believe that engaging and dynamic teaching by tutors who are not only enthused by their subject, but committed to their students, can make all the difference.
