I am mum to two amazing boys and love analysing and discussing literature in any form - prose, poetry, film, TV or media. I have excellent subject knowledge of GCSE and A Level English Language and Literature, and Drama.
I am available to tutor online in the evenings, and Thursday all day for GCSE English Language / Literature / Drama / A Level Language / Literature, and general KS3 English tutoring.
I have over a decade's experience in teaching and leading Secondary and A Level English Literature and Language, meaning I have vast knowledge of a range of challenging texts. I have also worked as an examiner for several exam boards, meaning I understand how to help students progress and achieve their target grades (and beyond). My passion for education extends to my personal life as I volunteer as a parent governor for my local school. I have taught students with various additional needs, as well as those who have English as an additional language, and use strategies to help ensure these students can achieve.
I have very high expectations of all of my students, meaning many regularly achieve above their predicted grades. I take a personable approach towards my teaching: endeavouring to make students feel comfortable so they are ready to learn and enjoy the process.
