My name is Melissa and I love all things language and literature. Originally from London, I studied in Manchester and after a period teaching English abroad, I settled in Norfolk. Currently I am based just north of Norwich city centre. I have been teaching English and drama for over 25 years.
I have experience of teaching drama at GCSE and A Level and English Language and English Literature up to GCSE across all exam boards. I am an examiner for Paper 2 of the AQA English Language Exam.
Prior to Covid, I built up an extensive list of private students, all of whom have been successful in following their onward paths.
I currently teach resit students in further education and my DBS checks are processed and updated through my employer.
My approach is tailored to the student's individual needs; we will work on trouble spots as well as develop strategies to maximise marks in areas where your strengths lie. Ultimately, we will build up your confidence and develop a 'can do' approach to your learning and exam technique.
I can teach online or from my home with a parent/carer present but this option wouldn't be suitable for students with fur allergies due to my 2 labradors and cat.
