I am an experienced science tutor and first class graduate of Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Manchester.
I am currently taking on students studying for A level Biology, GCSE and KS3 Biology, Chemistry and Physics and primary level science.
I started tutoring when I realised that people learn in different ways that are not always catered to in a school setting. Through tutoring I can help students to feel confident in their skills and abilities. Having completed my GCSE's using the recently introduced 1-9 system I am well versed in the current curriculum.
I worked as a tutor with the charity The Tutor Trust for two years. In this role I tutored GCSE and KS3 Biology, Chemistry and Physics in one-to-one and small group settings across schools in Manchester. As a tutor with the Tutor Trust I worked both online and in school settings.
I have also worked as a private tutor with primary school students.
At the beginning of the tuition I start by discussing both with the student and parent/caregiver what they are hoping to get out of the experience. Based on this together we will make a tuition plan.
I believe it is very important to cater to different styles of learning so I make sure to make my tuition sessions individualised.
Depending on the student I am tutoring my teaching style can involve games, practice questions and in depth breakdown of content.
