I am a 26 year old English specialist with a love for Literature. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, walking, and travelling.
I have been teaching for 4 years and have prior experience in a SEN school as a level 3 teaching assisstant. In 2019, I graduated in English literature and then in 2021 I graduated with a PGCE in Secondary English with QTS and 16+ enhancement.
As a secondary English teacher, I teach a mixture of language and literature at GCSE level. At my current school, I teach ages 12-16 and have experience teaching the AQA and Eduqas exam specifications. Alongside this, I am an examiner for Eduqas and have been for 2 years.
Furthermore, I am Director of year 10. This role focuses on behaviour and attendance. This job allows me to develop empathy and understanding. My teaching style is very clear and consistent: I expect effort and positivity.
Currently, I teach Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, unseen poetry, and anthology poetry following the Eduqas specification. Previously, I have taught the same texts for AQA and I have a deep knowledge of their poetry anthology. In previous schools I have taught Romeo and Juliet as a GCSE text. For KS3, I teach a range of texts including The Woman in Black, The Tempest, Identity poetry, Animal Farm, Pygmalion, and language skills alongside.
I work with a very clear schedule. My lessons are coherent and accessible to EAL and SEN learners, as-well as the higher-ability cohort. I focus on understanding my students, setting objectives, engaging students, inclusivity, and adaptibility.
