My love of music and nature brings me out into the world, spotting curious birds and magnificent sights. When the weather is too fierce, I like listening to records and playing folk music. I primarily enjoy non-fiction books, but the stories of Hilary Mantel and Peter Carey have currently got me gripped. Above all else, I enjoy learning about the world, everything in it and how they work!
I began teaching when I was in high school, giving reading and swimming lessons to younger years, to then working in community centres, working as a maths & physics tutor for both children and adults, working at kids camps in the Czech Republic, and also as an intervention teacher in Oxford. I love the process of teaching and believe in the magic of its world.
Primarily with maths, there is an endemic belief of inability, with confidence commonly stricken, arisen from the limiting way maths can be taught. It is an invaluable world to unlock, and within the reach of everyone. My methods are catered to each student, as their individual needs are personal and unique.
