Experienced linguist, I have been sharing my passion for my native language and culture with learners since 1999. Born and educated in France, I moved to the UK in 1997 where I started a family and built a career around facilitating access to foreign languages, and French in particular, through teaching and translating. I love having a bi-cultural lifestyle and have brought up my children in this kind of environment.
I have been teaching French for 25 years and held a range of responsibilities including Head of Department. I have experience of all secondary age groups with particular proficiency at preparing students for GCSE and A level examinations.
I am also an exam marker for AQA, which gives me an intimate insight in the demands and requirements of exam boards that I can pass on to my students.
My experience as a translator gives me further expertise in the preparation for this aspect of language manipulation.
My teaching style has been shaped, fine-tuned and refined to a granular level through the course of my 25 year career. It relies on empathy, and the development of independence and thinking skills. Confidence is nurtured with consistent monitoring of performance, supportive feedback and facilitating a strong sense of achievement through the use of wide variety of teaching and learning techniques.
