I enjoy reading fiction, snowboarding, muay thai and being with my family. In my spare time I like to travel and explore new places, soaking up different cultures. I enjoy watching plays and going to gigs to see my favourite bands.
I am a fully qualified English and media teacher with over 18 years experience of delivering in the classroom. In addition, I am a GCSE examiner and NEA moderator for EDUQAS, media studies. My current role is an assistant head of sixth form so I have great insight into the UCAS process. I can support students with their personal statements and help them find suitable courses and universities.
I have worked in schools with very different challenges. My first school was in RI with no behaviour policy and my last and current school have been outstanding with challenges to maintain standards/meet the demands of parents’ expectations. I’ve enjoyed working at all three schools as they’ve helped me progress and become an outstanding teacher.
I’m very supportive, patient and enthusiastic. I believe every student can succeed and I create engaging and fun lessons to support their learning and help them enjoy learning. I have excellent subject knowledge and am an Eduqas media examiner so have insight into the exam system and know the techniques to succeed. I have experience of working with children who have additional needs and understand the support they require.
I enjoy marking and encourage students to read and act on their feedback in order to progress.
